Let Go, Let God | Is it Faith or Complacency

What’s the difference between letting God fight our battles or standing up for ourselves.

When the Lord decided to work for us for good he meant for the good of us, not for the good that we wanted. We have to remember this when we are wondering why our prayers aren’t seemingly being answered.

Romans 8:26-28

26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Knowing the Lord has the end as well as the beginning in His hands really only give us one job to do! Believe! We only need to believe that no matter what we are experiencing in the present, the Good Lord knows the direction we are going and has prepared a path that in the end, we will result in something that is good for us.

So, What is GOOD? We would usually like to think we know better for ourselves and our life, wouldn’t we? But, unfortunately, most of the time we make decisions for things that we WANT or DESIRE rather than what is GOOD for us. Think of the little toddler who wants to put something in his mouth, they don’t care is it is going to end up being a good thing, they just pop it in their mouths and then we are rushing to save them from choking to death!

One time when my daughter was a little thing, we were in the grocery store. I was in a hurry and unbeknownst to me, she had opened a pack of gum and started shoving piece after piece of gum in her mouth. As I was reaching for tomato sauce I heard a strange sound that

Shes a Bit Older & Wiser now!

caused me to hold my breath. I looked over at my daughter, she was gagging and couldn’t breathe due to the wet, slimy wad of gum lodged in the back of her throat. I grabbed her head, shoved it straight back so her throat would open up, and shoved my finger into her mouth , scooped out the gum wad and shouted, “breathe!”

Sometimes I feel like my Heavenly Father has to do the same thing for me. He has to come rushing and grab the object out of my throat that I’m choking on. But, instead of being like I was with my daughter, frustrated for threatening her life by making such a stupid decision only because it tasted good, He loves me patiently and continues to take my hand and protect me and lead me.

The Lord sees us as precious children. He wants to walk with us and talk with us! He absolutely loves us so incredibly that He only wants GOOD for us and sometimes that means we need to go through some hard knocks.

So, when you’re having a hard time of it, remember that Letting Go and Letting God is the best way to have any GOOD come of it! Keep BELIEVING! The HOPE is knowing the Good Lord LOVES YOU and loves to take care of us!
